Laverne Hurst

LAVERNE HURSTHenderson, TN: Doris Laverne Thomas Hurst, age 70, died July 15, 2009 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.She was born and reared in the Perry Switch Road Community in Madison County, the daughter of the late James Henry Thomas and Laura Mae Burkhead Cupples and the late step-father, George Cupples. She was married to Dan Jackson in 1957. She was married to William C. “Bill” Hurst in 1981. They made their home in Henderson. She loved gardening and taking care of her family. She was a member of the Cabo Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, William C. “Bill” Hurst of Henderson; six sons, Danny Jackson of Henderson, Dennis Jackson and wife Nancy of Lexington, Nathan Hurst and wife Beth of Jacks Creek, Johnny Hurst and wife Nancy of Hornsby, James Hurst and wife Dawn of Bethel Springs and Tony Hurst of Masseyville; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; a brother, Boyd Cupples and wife Kathy of Finger; a sister, Eulena Sells and husband Ronnie of Beech Bluff.She was preceded in death by a son, Darrel Jackson in 1985.
