Laura Louise Vaughan Jordan

February 9, 1941 — February 4, 2005

Laura Louise Vaughan Jordan, 63, of Toone, died Friday,

February 4, 2005 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.



The wife of Junior Thomas Jordan, who survives, she was a school

teacher, having retired in 1999 after 32 years. She taught first

grade at Toone Elementary and kindergarten at Whiteville

Elementary School. Mrs. Jordan was born February 9, 1941 in

Bolivar, daughter of the late Simon and Lois Kiestler Vaughan and

lived in Hardeman County all of her life. She graduated from Blue

Mountain College and was a Career Level 4 teacher. Mrs. Jordan

was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.



Services were 10 am Monday, February 7 at Shackelford's Bolivar

chapel with Dennis Callahan officiating and Fred Clifft assisting at

the graveside. Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery near Toone.



In addition to her husband, whom she married October 2, 1964,

survivors include two daughters, Teresa Jordan Langlinais and

LeAnn Jordan Hunt, both of Henderson; one son, Michael Thomas

Jordan of Bolivar; one brother, Abner Anderson Vaughan of San

Antonio, Tex. and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death

by one brother, Jewell Vaughan.
