LARRY WOODY
Pinson, TN: Bonnie Larry Woody, age 82 passed away February 6, 2020 at his home.
He was born August 6, 1937 at Mifflin in Chester County, the son of the late Bonnie Farris and Flossie Mae Adcock Woody. He graduated from Chester County High School in 1956 and married Marlene Plunk in 1957. He served in the United States Navy for two years and then the Naval Reserve for four years. He started working for the City of Henderson, September 1959 and worked over 30 years, retiring as Superintendent of the Water and Gas Department. He served as a County Commissioner for thirteen years, until he moved out of the district.
He was a member of the Meridian Baptist Church in Jackson. He was an avid sportsman, loving to fish and hunt.
Mr. Woody is survived by his wife, Frances Marlene Plunk Woody of Pinson; a son, Douglas Larry Woody of Pinson and three daughters, Debbie Cupples (Garey) of Pinson, Angie Hudson (Joe) of Jackson and Cindy Pica (Mark) of Jackson; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Joe Perry Woody and Melvin Woody and a sister, Sue Waldrop.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, February 9th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Bro. Larry Kirk officiating. Burial will follow at Henderson City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 12:00 Noon on Sunday until service time 2:00 PM Sunday.
