Larry Wayne Oliver departed this life on April 24, 2015 at the age of 66 years and 9 days. He was born on April 15, 1949 in Decatur County, Tennessee, son to the late George Thomas and Velma Cummins Oliver. He was united in marriage to Cathy Joann Melson on October 24, 1969, who survives.
Larry was employed as an over-the-road truck driver for Empire Express for 13 years. He had also served his country in the United States Army. Larry was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church and involved in the VFW of Savannah, Tennessee. He lived in Hardin county for 46 years and Decatur county for 20 years.
Larry loved working in his shop doing carpenter and mechanic work. He also enjoyed fishing and commercial fishing.
In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by his two children, Chandra Joann Collins and her husband, Scott Barlow, of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, and Timothy Wayne Oliver and his wife, Candy, of Savannah, Tennessee; siblings, James Oliver of Savannah, Tennessee, Ricky Oliver of Savannah, Tennessee, Edna Mae May of Phil Campbell, Alabama, Donald Oliver of Savannah, Tennessee, Judy Broadway of Henderson, Tennessee, Bobby Oliver of Savannah, Tennessee, William Oliver of Savannah, Tennessee, and Jackie Oliver of Fayetteville, Tennessee; and grandchildren, Keoni Ekewaka Sai, Timothy Caleb-Wayne Oliver, and Tristan Lee Collins.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Brian Eddie Oliver; and siblings, James Lee, Stella Oliver, Bertha Blanton, and Steven Oliver.
