Larry Ray Matthews was born August 4, 1948 in Waynesboro, TN the son of the late William Price and Gladys Odele Hughes Matthews. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waynesboro, TN. Mr. Matthews departed this life on March 26, 2022 at his home in Waynesboro, TN at the age of 73 years, 7 months, and 22 days.
He is survived by a brother, Gary Paul Matthews and wife Patricia L.; a sister, Barbara Reed and husband Rex; three nephews, Jason Matthews, Jake and Donnie Staggs; and two nieces, Jessica Matthews, and Pam Matthews, all of Waynesboro, TN.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Ralph Cole Cemetery in Waynesboro, TN, with Jason Matthews officiating. Burial will follow with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
