Larry George Gean was born on April 2, 1942 the son of the late Owen William and Alice Marie Jones Gean.On July 26, 1963 he married Nancy Scott, who survives.During his life Mr. Gean had worked for the Paper Mill for 15 years, owned Gean's Furniture for 11 years, and worked at Pickwick State Park for 13 years before retiring. He was a Hardin County School Board Member for 12 years and a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. He enjoyed golfing and bowling. He loved to watch Tennessee basketball and football, and was a NY Yankee fan. He had coached Little League, Babe Ruth and American Legion Baseball. Mr. Gean departed this life on January 10, 2008 at Hardin Medical Center at the age of 65 years, 9 months, 9 days.In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter: Tina Gean Plunk of Bolivar, Tennessee; a son: Scotty Owen Gean of Savannah, Tennessee; a sister: Joann Mayhall of Savannah, Tennessee; a brother: Tommy Marshall Gean of Savannah, Tennessee; 3 grandchildren: Jake Plunk, Clint Plunk, and McKenzie Gean.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister: Frankie Gray.
