Larry W. Cross, 64, of Bolivar, died Saturday, February 12, 2005
at his home in Bolivar.
The husband of Linda Sterling Cross, who survives, he was
employed by Koppers for 12 years, the Hardeman Co. Highway
Dept. for 7 years and was most recently a self-employed timberman.
He was born May 12, 1940, in Elaine, Arkansas, son of the late
George Washington Cross and Susie McGee Cross and had lived
here since 1961. He raised and showed horses for many years, was
a member of Shandy Baptist Church and attended the Bolivar
Church of God.
Services were 2 PM Monday, February 14 at Shackelford's Bolivar
chapel with Bro. Robert Gibson and Bro. Chip Woods officiating.
Burial was in New Union Cemetery near Medon with Louis Cross,
Randy King, Wayne and Joe Sterling, Larry Vales and Lavern
Simer serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers were
Kenneth Fesmire and Joe Cross.
In addition to his wife, survivors include three sons, Larry D. Cross
of Bethel Springs, Jerry Wayne Cross of Clarksburg, and Lynn
Cross of Spring Creek; a step-son, David Sills, Jr. of Bolivar; one
brother, Harold Cross of LaFitte, LA; three grandchildren, Perry,
Nicole and Hunter Cross and three step-grandchildren, Kevin Sills
and Blake and Jonathan Smithson. He was preceded in death by
his first wife, Ima Jean King Cross on Sept. 13, 1985.
