Lacy Richard Evans, Jr.
was born in Jackson, Tennessee on February 1, 1942 the son of the late Lacy Richard Evans, Sr. and the late Cliff and Dorothy Lois Donaldson Johnson.
On October 19, 1984 he was united in marriage to his wife of 20 years, Claudia.
Rick grew up in the Jackson, Tennessee area. He also lived in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin; Cheyenne, Wyoming; Marion, Arkansas; Milford, Connecticut; West Palm Beach, Florida and Counce, Tennessee. Mr. Evans was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked for Firestone in Memphis for 13 years until the plant's closing and later worked for Sikorsky Aircraft as a mechanical engineer. Mr. Evans was a member of the West Memphis Missionary Baptist Church and really loved the Lord. As a child, he wanted to be a preacher and acted the part so much that a group of teenagers held him down to tattoo the word "DEACON" on his right arm. Mr. Evans' father donated 36 acres of land for W. C. Johnson Park in Collierville, Tennessee.
He departed this life on January 1, 2007 at his residence in Counce, Tennessee at the age of 64 years and 11 months.
Mr. Evans is survived by his former wife, Claudia Evans of Savannah, Tennessee; two sons, Ricky Ray Evans of San Diego, California and John Evans of Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin; a daughter, Dawn Jerden of Cordova, Tennessee; a step-son, Mac Coleman of San Diego, California; a step-daughter, Lisa Johnston of Adamsville, Tennessee and twelve grandchildren, Lane, Michael, Matthew, Jeshua, Aaron, Jordan, John, Claude, Conner, Anna, Allison and Cana.
