Kim Vencion Ray of Waynesboro, TN was born February 4, 1961 in Waynesboro, TN, the daughter of Clara Nell Pope Vencion of Waynesboro, TN, who survives and the late James Edward Vencion. She was united in marriage to Jerry Wayne Ray on April 28, 1989.
Mrs. Ray was the secretary for 39 years at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in Waynesboro, TN and was a member of the Waynesboro Church of God in Waynesboro, Tennessee. She was affectionately known as "Mama Kim".
Mrs. Ray departed this life on Friday, June 24, 2022 at St. Thomas Hospital West in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 61 Years, 4 Months and 20 Days after a brief illness.
Other than her mother, Mrs. Ray is survived by her husband, Jerry Wayne Ray, daughters, Anna Ray Carroll and husband, Macon and Bailey Kilburn, one grandson, Vencion Carroll, her sister, Lisa Vencion Daniel and husband, Anthony all of Waynesboro, TN and aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to her father, Mrs. Ray was preceded in death by grandparents, Harvey and Audrey Pope and Leonard and Lorene Vencion.
Services will be held on Monday, June 27, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Tommy Burke, Timothy Owen and Roy Vogan officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family. Visitation will be Sunday, June 26, 2022 from 6 pm to 9 pm and Monday, June 27, 2022 from 11 am to service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Robert Pope, Kenley Bates, Tony Love, Tyler York, James Griggs and Samuel Hodum with the staff of Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County serving as honorary pallbearers.
Due to the increase of Covid in our community, wearing face coverings are not required but the family suggests doing so if possible.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be given to the Waynesboro Church of God building fund at 120 Belew Hollow Road, Waynesboro, TN 38485.
