KEVIN SMITH

 Henderson, TN: James Kevin Smith age 55, passed away January 22, 2025 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

He was born January 12, 1970, in Henderson, the son of the late James Earl and Joyce Ann Forrester Smith. He graduated from South Side High School in 1988. He attended Tennessee Technology School at Crump and at Jackson where he received his certificates in electrical maintenance. He married Jennifer Willis in 1995. They made their home in Henderson.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church and accepted Christ as his savior in 1995.

He worked in production and maintenance at Ormet Aluminum and the rest of his career BlueScope Buildings.

He began to battle cancer in February 2023 and battled to the end.

He was an avid hunter, loved deer hunting and turkey hunting. He enjoyed working out and staying fit and being a dad to his children.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Jennifer Lea Willis Smith of Henderson; a son, Blake Smith (Liane) of Henderson and a daughter, Kaylea Smith of Jackson and one grandchild, Riley Blake Smith arriving in March; and a sister, Lisa Smith (Kerry) of Finger. 

He also leaves a nephew Kyle (Samantha), a niece, Kyleigh and 3 great nieces, Madison, Emily and Faith and a great nephew, Griffin.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis. 

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, at Chester County Memory Gardens with Scott Dunaway officiating.
