He was born and reared in Finger in McNairy County, the son of the late Ezra and Vera Dallas. He went to school at Finger. As a young man he helped on farms around the
Community. In 1945 he married Edith Frye of the Old Friendship Community. They made their home in the Finger Community and in 1951 moved to Memphis. He became a carpenter, and did custom and finishing work. He enjoyed doing wood work for the family in his shop at home. He was a Baptist and a member of the Liberty Memorial Church in Memphis.
He is survived by his wife Edith Irene Frye Dallas of Memphis; two sons, Ronald Dallas and his wife Terri of Memphis and Kenneth Dallas, Sr. and his wife Pamela of Bartlett; two daughters, Carol Dallas of Memphis and Melinda Dallas of Finger; eleven grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren;
He was preceded in death by a son Richard Dallas in 1967, in Vietnam.
