Kathy Newcomb

was born in Iuka, Mississippi on May 5, 1966 the daughter of the late Kermit (Shorty) and Edna Louise Cox Newcomb.

Kathy worked as a CNA at Glenwood Rehabilitation until 2010 after she became ill. She enjoyed going to watch her son-in-law at Pickwick Dragway, which was previously owned by her father and now by her brother Billy. Kathy would spend every chance she could with her children and grandchildren watching movies and eating popcorn. She also enjoyed going to the flea market on the weekends, listening to gospel music and going to church at South Shiloh Full Gospel Church.

Kathy departed this life on Sunday, May 16, 2021 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 55 years and 11 days.

She is survived by her children, Kathy Ann Burnes and Dale, Kristal Ann Pruitt and her husband Jamie, and Christina Copeland and her husband Billy Joe Copeland, Jr., all of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, James Traynor, Zena Burnes, Jasper Pruitt, Lilly Pruitt, Billy Joe Copeland, III, Jacob Burnes, and Josh Burnes; brothers, Billy Newcomb and his wife Nancy of Counce, Tennessee, David Newcomb and his wife Rindy of Selmer, Tennessee, Butch Newcomb of Burnsville, Mississippi, Larry Newcomb and his wife Twyla of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and Douglas Newcomb and his wife Wilma of Counce, Tennessee; and sister, Lisa Farris and her husband Kenny of Savannah, Tennessee.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy and James Newcomb, and one sister, Wanda Fae Newcomb.
