Kathy Johnson was born April 22, 1952 in Memphis, TN the daughter of the late Johnny L. and Mary Louise Nowell Sparks.
She was united in marriage to James Leroy Johnson on April 7, 1972.
Mrs. Johnson worked for over 35 years as a bookkeeper in Memphis and Jackson for accounting firms. She attended Lanes Chapel Church in Finger, TN. She loved the Lord, her family and friends. She was an amazing Nana and her grandchildren brought her much joy. She hosted the best tea parties and believed every detail was important including the proper way to hold the teacup, proper attire - gloves, hats, dresses or a suit and the cube sugar.
She leaves her family with a legacy of walking through life with the Lord, to love and cherish family, and how to throw a proper tea party.
Mrs. Johnson departed this life on January 19, 2019 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 66 Years, 8 Months, 28 Days. She is survived by her husband, Leroy Johnson of Finger, TN; a daughter, Michelle Johnson Chaney and husband Roger, Sr of Finger, TN; a sister, Linda Gray of Cordova, TN; four grandchildren, Roger Chaney Jr., Mealonie Chaney, Shannon Chaney, Jayden Steward; a great-grandchild, Brailynn Chaney; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Allen Sparks.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
