Mrs. Hollomon was born in Evansville, IN and grew up in Evansville, IN, the daughter of the late Robert and Audrey Parker Wright. She was raised by her mother and step-father, the late Orvil Coker.
She graduated high school in Mesa, AZ and graduated from Bethel College in McKenzie and received her masters in education from Freed-Hardeman University.
She was married to Mark Hollomon in 1971 and they made their home at Nathan Bedford State Park, Henry Horton State Park, and moved to Chester County and made their home at Chickasaw State Park where Mr. Hollomon worked as a park ranger.
Mrs. Hollomon began her teaching career in Huntingdon and also taught at Holladay, Chapel Hill, Bolivar, and then second grade at East Elementary School in Chester County, and retired after having taught for over 33 years. She also taught in the GED program in Chester County until August of this year.
She was a member of the Tennessee Education Association, the National Education Association, and the Chester County Retired Teacher’s Association.
She was a member of the Henderson Chapter 120 of the Order of the Eastern Star and had served as Worthy Matron in 2000 and currently was serving as grand representative to the state of Mississippi.
She had been an active member of the First Baptist Church of Henderson and the Henderson First United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Jacks Creek Community Club and the Forked Deer Chapter N of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association of Jackson.
She loved to sew, garden, and take care of her grandchildren. She was a regular volunteer at the Gleaners House and actively helped other cancer patients up until her trip to the M. D. Anderson Hospital in August of this year.
She is survived by her husband Mark Hollomon; a daughter Tay Anne McDaniel and husband Chris and grandchildren Christopher and Kathleen McDaniel all of Henderson.
She has a brother David Wright and wife Bettye of Louisville, KY and a sister Judy Frazier and husband John of Severn, MD. She also is survived by her mother-in-law Beverly Hollomon of Henderson and a brother-in-law Gregg Allen Hollomon and wife Linda of Norway.
Memorials may be made to the West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation in Kathy Hollomon's name and those funds will be used to aide cancer patients in Chester County.
