Mrs. Thomas died May 23, 2008 after a short stay at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Born September 22, 1918 in Medon, she grew up and lived most of her life there. She graduated from Malesus High School and made her life as a dedicated wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother. She was married to Clyde Thomas, who preceded her in death on March 11, 1981, and during their time together, they enjoyed being a part of the farming community in Hardeman County. She was a Sunday school teacher form many years, was active with the New Union Cemetery Foundation, and held many other positions in the church.
Surviving Mrs. Thomas are a daughter, Sandra Thomas Armstrong; three grandchildren, Shelley Armstrong Garner, Chad and Nicole Armstrong, and Blake Armstrong; and one great-grandchild, Chloe Grace Russell; all of Bolivar.
