She was born in Gibson County, the daughter of the late Earl and Bertie Goff Palmer. She attended schools in Gibson County and 1938 she was married to John Benjamin “Ben†Cupples. Mr. Cupples was in the timber business and died in a timber accident in 1954. She worked as a tree setter for the Tennessee State Division of Forestry at Pinson. Mrs. Cupples made her home at Montezuma and Henderson after Mr. Cupples’ death. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Henderson.She is survived by two sons, Bobby W. Cupples and his wife Joyce of Pinson and Donald Gene Cupples and his wife Susan of Atoka; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; and a sister Ruth Turnbow of Jackson. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Benjamin “Ben†Cupples, a son Jerry Paul Cupples in 2007 and a brother, Ernest Palmer and two sisters, Pauline Clement and Margaret Tidwell.
