“Kathleen Peerey Fiserâ€
was born in Puryear, Tennessee on April 29, 1914 the daughter of the late Ollie Roberta McDaniel Peerey and Thomas Lee Peerey, a Methodist minister.
She graduated from Shiloh High School in 1932 and attended Lambuth College, majoring in English and Education. While there, she also worked in the office of the college president.
On December 31, 1936 she was married to James Henton Fiser, who preceded her in death on October 29, 1971.
Mrs. Fiser taught school at Swindel School, a one room school which housed grades 1-6, in Gibson County, near Milan, Tennessee and third grade in Bremerton, Washington. She was also a Civil Service employee.
As a career military wife, she accompanied her husband; living and working in several cities, including Wurzburg and Frankfurt, Germany; Atlanta, Georgia; Colorado Springs, Colorado; Columbus, Georgia; San Pedro, California; Tupelo, Mississippi; Jackson, Mississippi; and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Her last residence was in Mobile, Alabama.
She was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church in Mobile, Alabama. She also was a member of the Eastern Star and the Officers’ Wives Club.
She departed this life on November 23, 2005 in Mobile, Alabama at the age of 91 years, 6 months and 25 days.
Mrs. Fiser is survived by her two sons: James Ronald Fiser of Mobile, Alabama and W. Gerald (Jerry) Fiser of Port Jervis, New York; 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and one brother, Thomas Clayton Peerey of Troy, Michigan;
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clifford Lee Peerey.
