Katherine Jourdan Vandiver, 78, of Bolivar, died Sunday, January 23, 2005 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
The daughter of the late Richard and Lula Ethel Waldraven Laughlin, she was a homemaker. Ms. Vandiver was born April 21, 1926 in Delphia, Alabama and lived most of her life around Bolivar, making her home in Jackson for the past six years. She was a member of People's Chapel Pentecostal Church in Jackson.
Services were 11 am Tuesday, January 25 at Shackelford's Chapel in Bolivar with Rev. Johnny Williams officiating. Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery near Toone.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Katherine Stanfield, Hazel Glisson, and Peggy Jourdan, all of Jackson; four sisters, Delphia Sain and Ann Berry, both of Bolivar, Frances Watson of McKenzie, and Louise Sanders of Bethel Springs; eight grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Rev. Lester Jourdan; one daughter, Sarah Frances Jourdan; two brothers, Bert Loughlin and Billy Johnson and two sisters, Lois Tigner and Peggy Jones.
