Karen Lee Rivera, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went to her heavenly home on March 20, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on March 7, 1938, in Topeka Kansas, Karen was the daughter of Alice and Albert Smith and spent her early years growing up in Topeka, Kansas and Yuma, Arizona.

Karen was married to the late Jose Rivera and devoted her life to her family and her career. She leaves behind four daughters: Kimberly Jun, Malinda Joyce Pachl, Rebecca McGalliard, and Deborah Beets. Her Legacy includes seven cherished grandchildren, David Richey, Adam Jun, Alyssa Johnson, Molly Pretti, Troy Richey, Mathew Rohrs, Sydney Rohrs and eleven great grandchildren.

She is survived by her brothers, Albert Smith and Mathew Smith. She was preceded in death by her brother Daryl and sister Malinda.

Karen had a long and accomplished career, working as a legal secretary before retiring from the Department of Defense.

In retirement , Karen found joy in spending time with her family. She lived her final years in Eads, Tennessee with her grandson David and his wife Debbie who cared for her with love and devotion. The family is grateful to the compassionate staff at Henderson Health and Rehab, who cared for Karen. The family would like to extend as special thanks to Lisa, who provided exceptional care and comfort to Karen during her time there.

In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association to honor her memory.

Karen's love, kindness, and strength will be deeply missed by all her who knew her.
