June Weatherford Martin

June Weatherford Martin was born May 5, 1933 in McNairy County, TN the daughter of the late J. P. and Lois Finley Weatherford.

After graduating from Selmer High School, Mrs. Martin attended West Tennessee Business College in Jackson. She worked for what was then the McNairy County Welfare Department until her marriage to Wayne F. Martin on April 19, 1957. Mrs. Martin loved all children; she was drawn to them like a magnet. She taught pre-schoolers in Sunday School for about 40 years and loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mrs. Martin was a faithful member of Colonial Baptist Church in Memphis.

Mrs. Martin departed this life on July 3, 2019 in Germantown, Tennessee at the age of 86 Years, 1 Month, 28 Days. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Wayne F. Martin of Collierville, TN; a daughter, Leigh Ann Quick and husband Ken of Cordova, TN; a son, Trevor Martin and wife Mary of Knoxville, TN; four grandchildren: Jonathan Quick and wife Lauren, Lauren Quick, Jennifer Kilgore and husband Cole, and Wade Martin; two great-grandchildren, David Quick and James Kilgore; a sister, Elizabeth Castleman and husband George of Alamogordo, NM; a sister-in-law, Peggy Weatherford of Collierville, TN; and many extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Weatherford.

Interment Service will be held at Gravel Hill Cemetery in Eastview, TN beginning at 5:30 PM on Friday, July 5th.

Memorials may be made to Colonial Baptist Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
