JUDY HODGES

Oakfield, TN: Judy Carol Smith Hodges age 53 passed away July 31, 2016 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

She was born November 9, 1962 in Chester County, the daughter of the late George Guy and Lillian Josephine Bryant Smith. She graduated Chester County High School in 1981 and was a member of the 1978 Basketball State Championship. She worked as an inspector at Kilgore until 1990 and later was employed by Random House Distribution in Jackson, TN. She enjoyed watching her daughter Dallas play Dixie Youth Softball and spending time with her family. Judy was an avid walker. She was married to Anthony Hodges July 22, 2006. Judy was a member of the Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Jackson, TN.

Judy is survived by her husband, Anthony Hodges of Oakfield, TN; a daughter, Dallas Hodges of Oakfield and a stepson, Jarvis Hodges of Jackson; five sisters, Nancy Patterson (Donnie) of Henderson, Diane Bullman (Tiny Ray) of Henderson, Donna Hatch (Paul) of Bethel Springs, Patsy Hatch (Bobby) of Bethel Springs and Kathy McMahan (Jeff) of Middleton, and four brothers, Don Smith (Judy), Mickey Smith (Cindy) of Jackson, Jimmy Smith of Henderson and Barry Smith (Rhoda) of Henderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Bobby Smith and a sister, Betty Smith.
Funeral services will be Saturday August 6, 2016 at 12 Noon at Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Clarence Williams, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Jackson, TN.

The family will receive friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Johnson Chapel 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday and beginning at 9:00 AM Saturday at the church.
