JOYCE ANN STRICKLIN
Was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on January 6, 1936 the daughter of the late Jack and Mollie Franks Stricklin.
Miss Stricklin lived in the Big Ivy Community her entire life. She was a retired office manager for Savannah Courier. She formerly worked for Hardin County Farm Bureau office, Dillon Manufacturing Company and was a substitute teacher for Gillis Mills Elementary School. Miss Stricklin was a member of Big Ivy Cumberland Presbyterian Church, President of the Hardin County Fair Association, member and officer of former Big Ivy Community Club and Home Demonstration Club and was a member of the Hardin County Farm Bureau.
She loved to travel, attend quilt shows and local and state fairs. She enjoyed her family and friends and always loved her job at the Courier, not only working with the people, but, also the people who she would see on a regular basis.
Miss Stricklin departed this life on October 25, 2006 at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 70 years, 9 months and 19 days.
She is survived by one sister, Tera O’Neal and her husband, Jack of Enville, Tennessee.
2 sisters-in-law, Maymie Stricklin Allison of Savannah, Tennessee and Billie Price Stricklin of Jackson, Tennessee.
3 nieces, Becky Rose and her husband Richard of Savannah, Tennessee, Beth Bates of Jackson, Tennessee and Lee Ann O’Neal of Nashville, Tennessee.
One nephew, Bobby O’Neal of Enville, Tennessee.
3 great-nieces, Melanie Rose of Carbondale, Illinois, Virginia Bates of Jackson, Tennessee and Madisan Renee O’Neal of Enville, Tennessee
One great-nephew, Derek Rose of Savannah, Tennessee
Other than her parents, Miss Stricklin was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, J. B. and M. C. Stricklin.
