Joyce Ann Peters

Joyce Ann Peters, 61, of Mercer, passed from this life early Saturday morning, June 11, 2022, at Bolivar General Hospital.

She was born Sunday, August 21, 1960, in Jackson, daughter of the late Ira Lee Cox and Angeline Ann Yarbrough Cox, living all of her life in Hardeman County. She retired in 2020 as a teller, having worked 22 years in banking. She was a notary at Merchants and Planters and Centennial Banks in Bolivar and Toone, and enjoyed being outside, planting flowers, cooking and decorating for the holidays, but held her greatest love for her family and grandchildren. Mrs. Peters was Baptist in faith.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Cristy Ann Brown (Steve) of Bells and Tiffany West of Medina; a sister, Wanda Elder (James Ooten) of Jackson; her grandchildren, Avery, Jake and Nolan Brown, Aubrie West, Thomas Brody and Kaylee Peters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Dustin Lee Baker in 2001.
