JOY MASSENGILL GRISHAM
Jackson, TN: Joy Frances Massengill Grisham age 72, Passed away November 2, 2022, at her home.
She was born November 5, 1949, in Henderson and grew up in the Sweetlips Community of Chester County, the daughter of the late David Washington and Mary Elizabeth Henderson Massengill. She graduated from Chester County High School in 1967. She got a drafting certificate from tech school, did some factory work, and drafting work at Total Technical in Jackson. She had worked with Tupperware over twenty years and was a sales manager.
She enjoyed taking her family to Disney World on annual trips. She was a piano player for The Massengill Family, singing at churches, radio stations, and recording an album.
She was a member of the Inspire Church in Jackson, TN.
Mrs. Grisham is survived by a son, Tracey Grisham (Jennifer); two grandchildren, Kristina Thetford (Tyler) and David Grisham (Tess), two great grandchildren, Joshua Zane Thetford and Daisy Brooke Grisham; two sisters, Nannie Nixon of Adamsville and Mary Duke of Morris Chapel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, Max Massengill, William Massengill, Troy Massengill, John Sidney Massengill, Joseph Massengill and Paul Ray Massengill and three sisters, Maerene Barker, Mildred Smith and Naomi Grimes.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, November 7th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Tracey Grisham and David Grisham officiating. Burial will follow in Sweetlips Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday and again Monday at the funeral.
