Josie Wilkerson Franks
was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on May 20, 1919 the daughter of the late Garfield and Maude Kennedy Wilkerson.
On December 9, 1939 she was united in marriage to Edna Franks, who preceded her in death on December 27, 1980. Mrs. Franks was a homemaker and cook. She was a member of Christian Life Center. Mrs. Franks loved life, her church, flowers, her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, great-great-grandkids and music.
She departed this life on February 22, 2007 at Savannah Health Care Center in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 87 years, 9 months and 2 days.
Mrs. Franks is survived by four daughters: Maxell Gray and her husband, Doug, of Adamsville, Tennessee, Nannie Faye Gray and her husband, Joe, of Savannah, Tennessee, Deanna Harville and her husband, James, of Savannah, and Patricia Eklund and her husband, Allen, also of Savannah; two sons, Eugene Franks of Memphis, Tennessee and James C. Franks and his wife, Christy, of Savannah, Tennessee;
23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren;
one sister, Betty Copeland of Savannah and one brother, Wilburt Wilkerson of Savannah.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Lou Hancock, four sisters: Carrie Peerey, Daisy Austin, Lura Mae Franks and Sara Haynes and two brothers: Gilbert Wilkerson and James Dude Wilkerson.
