Josephine Wilkes, 92, of Whiteville, died Thursday morning, April 27, 2006 at NHC Healthcare in Somerville.
She retired from Whiteville Bank and had worked part time at the library. Miss Wilkes was born February 3, 1914 in Whiteville, daughter of the late Ernest C. Wilkes and Josie Pettigrew Wilkes and lived in Arkansas for 20 years before returning to make her home in Whiteville. She was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Services were 3:00 PM Friday, April 28, 2006 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Bolivar chapel with Larry Finger officiating. Burial was in Melrose Cemetery near Whiteville.
She is survived by several cousins.
