Joseph Donald West, 58, of Middleton, died Thursday, September 15, 2005 at the VA Regional Medical Center in Memphis.
Mr. West was born November 9, 1946 in Memphis, son of the late John Samuel “Red†West and Clovis Munn West, owners of the “Rainbow Inn†in Middleton. He was of the Church of Christ in belief and attended church in Middleton as a young child. Mr. West moved to Memphis in 1961 and lived around the country before returning here in 1999. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Spanish interpreter from 1964-68 and considered himself a poet and artist.
Services were 2 PM Sunday, September 18, 2005 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Middleton chapel with Malcolm George officiating. Burial was in Rogers Springs Cemetery near Middleton.
Survivors include one brother, John E. West of Bartlett and one niece and nephew.
