Joseph W. Sharp, Jr., 58, formerly of Memphis and Houston, passed away Friday, September 19, 2008 at his home in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. Jody was born June 18, 1950 to Dr. Joseph W. and Mary G. Sharp. He attended Christian Brothers High School and graduated in 1972 from the Memphis College of Art. Jody was a former art director at WMC-TV in Memphis and KNWS-TV in Houston. Jody completed his career as a fine artist with his works displayed in many Houston galleries. Jody was an avid collector of antique radios, televisions, and memorabilia. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother. Jody is survived by his brothers Randy (Kacey) Sharp of McKinney, Texas, Kevin (Amy) Sharp of Cabot, Arkansas, Stephen (Jackie) Sharp of Germantown, Tennessee, a sister Suellen (Bob) Young of Collierville, numerous nieces and nephews, and his former wife of 27 years, Amanda (Amy). Graveside memorial will be held in Milledgeville, Tennessee on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Meals on Wheels, Mercy Senior Care, PO Box 8428, Hot Springs, AR 71910.
