Joseph Perry Hobbs

Mr. Joseph "Joe" Perry Hobbs Jr. was born June 28, 1969 in Granite City, IL to the union of Joseph Perry and the late Betty Sue Rushing Hobbs. Mr. Hobbs was a Construction Laborer and a former member of Beech Creek Volunteer Fire Department and Station 1 Volunteer Fire Department in Waynesboro. Mr. Hobbs departed this life on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee making his stay in this life 49 Years, 9 Months, and 6 Days.

He is survived by his Father, Joseph Perry Hobbs, Sr. of Lawrenceburg TN; two brothers, Billy Earl Hobbs and wife Shelly of Waynesboro, TN, David Ray Hobbs and wife Kelly of Savannah, TN; a sister, Gracie Hobbs of Waynesboro, TN; a Special Nephew Ronnie Hobbs and wife Lacey of Lawrenceburg, TN; 10 nieces and nephews as well as several great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Hobbs was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Hobbs; Grandparents, Jesse Hobbs and Gracie Hobbs.


Services will be held Sunday, April 7, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesboro, TN with Grant Pavey officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery near Clifton, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family. Pallbearers are Tony Pitts, Corey Self, Kain Smith, Jon Hobbs, Jonathan Stricklin, Jonathan Hobbs, and Johnny Martin officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00-9:00 PM and Sunday from 11:30 until 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
