Joseph Boyd (Joe) Eastham, 78, of Bolivar, died Thursday morning, May 31, 2007 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Mr. Eastham was born September 12, 1928 in Toone, son of the late William Hortentious Eastham and Loura Matheson Eastham and lived here all of his life. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bolivar. After serving two years in the U. S. Army, he worked for Tenneco Gas Co. for 30 years and retired in 1986.
He was well known in his community for his beautiful garden and abundant vegetables he shared with family and friends. His quality of life was enhanced with a kidney transplant in 1997. The family requests you honor his life by becoming an organ donor.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances; a daughter, Beth Simmons and son-in-law, Charles of Bartlett; a son, Boyd Eastham and daughter-in-law, Jackie and grandson, Joe III, all of Jackson, Tenn. and a sister, Virginia Bankston of Little Rock, Ark. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
