Joseph Franklin (Joe) Dixon of Waynesboro, TN was born April 4, 1922 in Waynesboro, TN, the son of the late James Monroe and Lizzie Belew Dixon. He was united in marriage to Zuella Lee Andrews on August 19, 1966.
Mr. Dixon was a retired taxi driver and a member of the Green River Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee. He served his country in the United States Army and Air Force. Mr. Dixon was a former Waynesboro City Commissioner and a former Wayne County County Court Clerk and departed this life on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at his residence at the age of 92 Years, 11 Months, 17 Days.
He is survived by his wife, Zuella Lee Andrews Dixon of Waynesboro, TN; daughters, Delores McNatt and husband, Stan of Smyrna, TN, Dana Dixon and companion, Gaylon Broome of Waynesboro, TN, Debra Vaughn and husband, Johnathon of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Josh and Jill McNatt, Danielle Dixon, Makenzie Broome and Brandon and Kaylee Vaughn; great-grandchildren, Page and Jake McNatt and he was expecting two more great-grandchildren in May, 2015 and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Dixon was preceded in death by brothers, Robert C. Dixon, John Boyd Dixon, James Edmon Dixon; sisters, Marie Dixon Phillips and Mary Ethel Dixon Bundrant.
Services will be Monday, March 23, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Cal Hampton and Cary Crews officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County directing. Pallbearers will be Rick Rice, Chris Dixon, Nicky Dixon, Brandon Vaughn, Jeremy Bundrant and James Frank Bundrant. Honorary pallbearers will be Herbert Brewer, Dairl Andrews, Jackie Gobbell and James Beckham.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 22, 2015 from 5 pm to 9 pm and Monday, March 23, 2015 from 8 am until service time at the funeral home.
