Joneal Duren

Joneal Yancey Duren was born March 17, 1927 in Adamsville, Tennessee the daughter of the late Hugh and Mary Lewter Yancey.



Mrs. Duren was a graduate of Adamsville High School. She graduated from U. T. Martin with an Associate of Arts Degree, then attended U. T. Knoxville until her marriage to Charles H. Duren on February 22, 1947. Mrs. Duren was a teacher for the Adamsville Elementary School, and was a 72 year member of the Adamsville First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Adamsville Chapter 330, Order of the Eastern Star, and was a former Worthy Matron, Grand Representative, and committee member of the Grand Chapter of Tennessee. She had also served as a Girl Scout leader and had worked with the Rainbows. Mrs. Duren enjoyed gathering with the members of her Canasta Club, but her greatest love was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter-in-law.



Mrs. Duren departed this life on November 21, 2010 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 83 Years, 8 Months, 4 Days. She is survived by four daughters: Susan Amos and husband Ralph of Adamsville, TN, Yancey Williams and husband Eddie of Collierville, TN, Becky O'Neill and husband Peter of Hobe Sound, FL, and Lee Winters and husband Kem of Adamsville, TN; five grandchildren: Julie Durrance and husband Jason, Amy Coffman and husband Ricky, Mason Graham and wife Elizabeth, Ginny Williams, and Katie Williams; eight great-grandchildren: Abbey Durrance, Lane Durrance, Cason Durrance, Rylan Coffman, Ryce Coffman, Charlie Graham, Lillie Graham, and Mary Duren Graham; a sister, Dorrie Ross of Adamsville, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.



In addition to her parents, Mrs. Duren was preceded in death on May 24, 1995 by her husband of 48 years, Charles H. Duren; a brother, Dr. Jim Yancey; and a grandchild, Trae Amos.
