Johnny Morgan was born February 14, 1914 in Michie, Tennessee the son of the late Joe and Jennie Lambert Morgan.
He was united in marriage to Zelmer T. (Zeb) McAfee on May 24, 1941. Mrs. Morgan preceded him in death on January 29, 2003, following 61 years of marriage.
Mr. Morgan was a retired farmer, construction worker and a custodian for the McNairy County School System. He was a member of the Liberty church of Christ in Michie, Tennessee for over 60 years, and was a United States Army veteran of World War II. In his spare time, he loved to hunt rabbits with his beagles and enjoyed hearing the fox hounds run.
Mr. Morgan departed this life on May 28, 2008 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 94 Years, 3 Months, 14 Days. He is survived by a daughter, Louise Fowler and husband Thomas of Michie, TN; two sons: Donald Morgan and wife Mary Jo of Corinth, MS and Ron Morgan and wife Vickie of Pearl, MS; a brother, Odus Morgan of Michie, TN; five grandchildren: Tina Moore and husband Jerry of Michie, TN, Jennifer Morgan of Southaven, MS, Katie Burress and husband Eric of Corinth, MS, R. J. Morgan of Starkville, MS, and Amanda Morgan and fiance Josh Bagwell of Starkville, MS; a great-grandchild, Megan Malone and fiance Kevin Essary of Milledgeville, TN; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by three brothers: Ed Morgan, Arthur Morgan and Benton Morgan; and four sisters: Mamie Gladish, Ollie Jones, Zettie Harville and Easter Ann Morgan.
