Johnny Edward Helton of Selmer, TN was born February 17, 1940 in McNairy County, TN the son of the late Andrew Henry Helton and Hettie Gaddy Lott Helton. He was united in marriage to Billie Jean Whitten on February 15, 1958.
Mr. Helton attended Curtis Hill Church of God of Prophecy. During his lifetime, he was a Truck Driver for Shaw Trucking and a McNairy County School Bus Driver. He previously worked at Milan Arsenal and Owens Corning. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and deer hunting and was a U. S. Army Veteran. Mr. Helton departed this life on December 7, 2019 in Adamsville at the age of 79 Years, 9 Months, 20 Days.
He is survived by his wife Billie Jean Helton of Selmer, TN; a daughter, Linda Gail Helton Moore and husband Edward of Stantonville, TN; a son, Dwayne Allen Helton and wife Shannon of Live Oak, TX; five grandchildren, Jonathon Moore and wife Misty, Whitten Helton and companion Natasha, Brycyn Helton, Mattea Helton, Aynsley Helton; three great grandchildren, Baylie Brown, Levii Moore, Jhett Moore; a host of extended family and friends, his nurses and aides, along with Asera Care Hospice.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Helton was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Gene Helton; eight half brothers, Hardie O. Lott, Jr., Roy Bervill Lott, James Calvin (JC) Lott, Rayburn "Ward" Lott, Jessie Helton, Everett Ray Helton, Clarence Helton, Fred Helton; four half sisters, Hazel Massengill, Opal Sipes, Wana Mae Carpenter, Essie Mae Burkeens
