JOHNNIE CUPPLES HENSON
Bethel Springs, TN: Johnnie Pearl Cupples Henson age 98 passed away Monday afternoon August 1, 2016 at her home in the Woodville community.
Mrs. Henson was born November 11, 1917 in Chester County, the Cave Springs Community, the daughter of the late Pink Cupples, Etta Smith Cupples White and the late Joe White. She went to school at Masseyville, Phillips School House, and Henderson. She married Amo Henson in 1934. They farmed in the Woodville Community, raised cattle and hogs and Mr. Henson operated the gin. Mr. Henson died in 2007. Mrs. Henson served on the Woodville Cemetery Board, and was a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, where she was very involved.
Mrs. Henson is survived by two daughters, Joyce McMahan and husband Horice of Bethel Springs and Wanda Seaton and husband Terry of Henderson; three grandchildren; Darryl Moore (Shelba), Kim Conn (Kevin), and Kristy Seaton, six great grandchildren; Ross Moore (Melissa), Katie Brown (Zach), Maggie Inman (Kevin), Mason Weaver (Alicia), Bethany Moore (John Cody), and Emilee Perry, and four great-great- grandchildren; Ella Inman, Hugh Moore, Owen Brown, and Katherine Moore and one soon to be great-great grandchild John Moore coming in January.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Amo Henson in 2007, a granddaughter, Sheila Montgomery in 2012; a son-in-law, James Gordon Moore in 1969; two sisters, Emma Jean White and Maerene Gibson and a brother, Joe David White.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Thursday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Mike Holloway and Anthony Rowland officiating. Burial will follow in Woodville Cemetery in Chester County.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel beginning at 5:00 PM Wednesday.
