John Robert Westrick
was born on April 13, 1927 in Hutchinson, Kansas the son of the late Samuel V. and Mary Esther Jeffries Westrick.
Mr. Westrick was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. He lived most of his life in California; residing in Eureka, Lakeside and Borrego Springs. He retired from his position as a school administrator with the Lakeside Union School District. Mr. Westrick was very active in the Lions Club and served on the Board of Education for Eureka City Schools. He was a foreman on the Grand Jury in Eureka, California and he was also a docent at the Eureka City Zoo.
On May 25, 1980 he was united in marriage to the former Sharilyn Louise Springer, who survives.
He departed this life on August 24, 2006 at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 79 years, 4 months and 11 days.
Mr. Westrick is survived by his wife, Sharilyn Westrick of Borrego Springs, California;
one daughter, Charmon Claire Jones of Savannah, Tennessee;
5 sons: Peter J. Westrick of Savannah, Tennessee, Samuel J. Westrick of Cockeysville, Maryland, John A. Westrick of Lakeside, California, William L. Clevenger of Campo, California, and Erin Harrison of El Cajon, California; 12 grandchildren
and one sister, Margaret Ward of Hutchinson, Kansas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Katherine Davis.
