JOHN W. TIDWELL, JR.
Henderson, TN: John Wesley Tidwell, Jr. age 81 passed away April 21, 2017 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born August 16, 1935 in Finger and grew up at Sardis, the son of the late John Wesley Tidwell, Sr. and Gossie S. Plunk Tidwell. He attended school at Sardis. He married Bertie Loise Smith in 1962. They lived in Mifflin and Henderson and worked at Star Laundry in Jackson and later at Stevenson Stave Mill in Henderson. He had been disabled with emphysema for many years. He was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church.
Mr. Tidwell is survived by his wife Bertie Loise Smith Tidwell; a son, Johnny Tidwell, III of Henderson; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren and a brother, Jerry Tidwell of Sardis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Jackie Lynn Parker and a sister, Junior Pearl Maddox.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at New Friendship Cemetery.
