John R. Tackett

John R. Tackett was born on Tuesday, June 16, 1931, the son of Beatrice Kirk Tackett and the late Walter Bowers Tackett, Sr. He was a U. S. Marine veteran and a member of the VFW. He was a retired educator and school administrator for the McNairy County School System.Mr. Tackett passed from this life on Saturday, June 10, 2006, at McNairy Regional Hospital in Selmer, Tennessee, at the age of 74 years, 11 months, and 25 days.He is survived by his mother Beatrice Tackett of Adamsville, Tennessee; 2 daughters, Dana Weatherford and Stacy Kiser, both of Selmer, Tennessee; a sister Beatrice Lee of Selmer; 2 brothers, Walter B. Tackett, Jr. and Joe Tackett, both of Selmer; 3 grandchildren, Jake Kiser, Hannah Weatherford and Alex Weatherford.
