John Richard Stegall

John Richard Stegall departed this life Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Wayne Medical Center, Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 82 Years, 11 Months, 26 Days. He was born January 13, 1934 in Waynesboro, TN, the son of the late Jules (Dick) Brown and Kate Irene Smith Stegall.

He married Ruby Joyce Coffey, March 7, 1969 and she preceded him in death, October 21, 2010.

Mr. Stegall retired from Genesco as the assistant plant manager and had worked with Lawson Auction Service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Waynesboro, Tennessee.

Survivors, son, Gene Preston Stegall and wife, Jyl; daughters, Leslie Carole Stegall Ray and husband, Jeff and Robin Marcelle Stegall Staggs and husband, Jimmy all of Waynesboro, TN; grandchildren, Georgia Beth Morris, Jackson Bennett Morris, Preston Wayne Stegall, Lawson James Stegall, Heather Renee Moser, Hallie Marie Burcham; great-grandchildren, Chelsey Breanne Moser, Makayla Beth Nance, Jacie Laine Burcham; brother, Billy Eugene Stegall and wife, Dean of Waynesboro, TN and nieces and nephews.

Services will be Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Home chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Kevin Marston officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors directing.

Visitation will be Monday, January 9, 2017 from 6:00-9:00 pm and on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 8:00 am until service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jackson Morris, Preston Stegall, Clarence Coffey, Steven Stegall, John Galbreath, Rex Lineberry with Lawson Stegall as honorary.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donation be given to the Butterfly Foundation or Waynesboro First United Methodist Church.
