John H. Roten

John H. Roten of Selmer, Tennessee, was born on October 3, 1925, in McNairy County, the son of the late Thomas Andrew Roten and Lora Hicks Roten. He was united in marriage to Inez Thompson on June 29, 1946. They made their home in Memphis for 43 years. Mr. Roten was a retired automotive body shop manager and parts salesman. He was a devoted member of Adamsville First Baptist Church.Mr. Roten passed from this life on Saturday, September 29, 2007, in Memphis at the age of 81 years, 11 months, and 26 days.Survivors are his wife of 61 years, Inez Roten; a daughter, Linda Heizer and husband Dave of Olive Branch, Mississippi; a son, Gary Roten and wife Paula also of Olive Branch; four grandchildren, Candice Duffy of Cordova, Tennessee, Brandon Roten of Benton, Arkansas, Beth Bonner of Lebanon, Tennessee, and Kathy O'Neal of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; three great grandchildren, Eli Duffy, Ella Duffy, and Leo O'Neal; one sister, Marion Laycook of Mempis; a brother, Hillard Roten of Adamsville.A host of other relatives and friends.
