John William “Bill†Neely, Jr., 51, of Bolivar, died Monday, September 19, 2005 at Regional Medical Center in Memphis.
Employed by the Tenn. Department of Safety for 28 years, most recently as a state trooper, he was born July 20, 1954 in Memphis, son of John William Neely, Sr. and Janie Simpson Neely of Middleton. Mr. Neely lived in Hardeman County all his life, graduating from Middleton High School. He attended Bolivar First Baptist Church and loved UT football and NASCAR.
Services were 4 PM Thursday, September 22, 2005 at Middleton First Baptist Church with Dr. Eric Taylor and Eric Wood officiating. Burial was in Middleton City Cemetery. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar were in charge of arrangements.
In addition to his parents, survivors include one daughter, Patricia Ann "Trish" Neely of Oakland; two sons, John William “Trey†Neely, III and Blakemon “Blake†Lee Neely, both of Iuka, Miss.; two sisters, Janie Neely Paschall and her husband, Roger, of Austin, Tex. and Jennifer Neely Martin and her husband, Nick, of Brentwood; one niece, Katie Paschall and two nephews, Justin and Patrick Paschall.
