John Riley (J.R.) Murphy
as born on August 9, 1935 in Hardin County, Tennessee the son of the late Monroe and Lena White Murphy.
On March 17, 1955 he was united in marriage to the former Shirley Mitchell, who survives. Mr. Murphy worked as a school bus driver for the Hardin County School System. He also was a member of Faith Assembly Church.
He departed this life on May 4, 2006 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 70 years, 8 months and 25 days.
In addition to his wife, Shirley Mitchell Murphy of Savannah, he is survived by
3 sons: Jim Murphy, Bill Murphy and Johnny Ray Murphy, all of Savannah, and
5 grandchildren: Jeremy, Andrea, Kyle, Zack and Hayden Murphy.
