John Quentin McWilliams

April 6, 1918 — March 20, 2006

John Quentin McWilliams, 87, Collinwood, TN died at his home, Monday, March 20, 2006 after an extended illness. A native of Wayne County, TN, he was a member of the Collinwood Church of Christ for over thirty years, served in the United States Army during WWII, had worked at Union Aluminum Company, Sheffield, AL, the Natchez Trace Parway maintenance crew, Murray Ohio Manufacturing Company, Lawrenceburg, TN, and retired from By-Far Products, Collinwood, TN, where he was the sawmill superintendent, and was a member of the American Legion and DAV.



Mr. McWilliams was preceded in death by his parents, John Melton and Josie Bryant McWilliams; son, Jeffrey Keith McWilliams; brothers, Theodore, James, Bas and Jasper McWilliams; sisters, Lora Davis, Blanch Styles, Pearle Coleman, Ruth Hampton, and Dona Adkisson,



Survivors, his loving wife of 64 years, Mary Louise Farris McWilliams; sons, James Quentin (Sally) McWilliams, New Johnsonville, TN, Ted Byler (Jean) McWilliams, Collinwood, TN; grandchildren, Tammy (Ricky) Cooley, Waverly, TN, Laura (Jere) Hooper, Waverly, TN, Andy (Brandy) McWilliams, Goodlettsville, TN, Charity (Shane) Godfrey, Westchester, OH, Ronnie (Nicki) McWilliams, Collinwood, TN, Amanda (Brad) Woodard, Leoma, TN, Sarah McWilliams, Collinwood, TN; great-grandchildren, Jake McWilliams, Emily and Martha Jane Hooper, Olivia and Andrew McWilliams, Tyler and Josie Godfrey, Wesley McWilliams, step-great-grandson, James Cooley, nieces, nephews.



The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Volunteer Hospice of Waynesboro, TN for their loving care of our loved one. A special thanks to his nurse, Sherry Daniel; his aides, Nettie Pierson, Gindy Alley, and Rhonda Rich; his doctor, T. A. Prichard for his kindness and willingness to help Sherry keep him as comfortable as possible during the 15 months he was confined to his bed and to Dr. Prichard's receptionist, Elizabeth, for always getting our concerns to Dr. Prichard.
