John D. McMullen

John D. McMullen

was born in Olive Hill, Tennessee on October 30, 1936 the son of the late Ben F. and Ella McMullen.

On August 31, 1962 he was united in marriage to Laverne Maness, who survives.

John served his country proudly in the United States Army.  In 1998 he retired as a pipefitter at Tennessee River Pulp and Paper Mill.

He departed this life on Friday, September 15, 2023 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 86 years, 10 months, and 16 days.

In addition to his wife of 61 years, Laverne of Savannah, Tennessee, John is survived by his children, Sherry McMullen Chauffe of Counce, Tennessee and Phillip Van McMullen of St. Charles, Missouri; grandchildren, Rachel Elizabeth McMullen and Noah Andrew McMullen; and his brother, Paul Franklin McMullen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben F. and Ella McMullen and sister, Sarah McMullen Clement.
