John Robert Lott was born December 29, 1917 in Enville, Tennessee the son of the late Harmon Sherrel and Celie Canaday Lott.He was united in marriage to Mathel Bridges Lott on November 17, 1945.Mr. Lott, a retired postal employee, was a member of the Oakhaven United Methodist Church for the past 43 years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in North Africa and Southern Europe with the 542nd Army Postal Unit of the Fifth Army, from 1942 to 1945. He resided in Memphis for almost 60 years.Mr. Lott departed this life on March 1, 2007 in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of Age 89 Years, 2 Months, 1 Day. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mathel Bridges Lott of Memphis, Tennessee; one son, Bobby Lott of Olive Branch, Mississippi; one sister, Jennie Nash of Enville, Tennessee; and one grandson, Matthew Lott.In addition to his parents, Mr. Lott was preceded in death by one sister, Catherine Burkeen; and three brothers, J. O. Lott, Marvin Lott and Roy Almus Lott.
