John Earl Knepp

September 9, 1933 — August 19, 2005

John Earl “Jack” Knepp, 71, of Bolivar, died Friday, August 19, 2005 at Bolivar General Hospital.



Mr. Knepp was the host of “The Garden Hour with Jack Knepp” on News Talk 101.5 in Jackson. He served Hardeman County as County Agent for 42 years, Fair Association Board Member for 30 years, Spring Creek Utilities President and Vice President for 42 years, Tennessee National Guard for 13 years, was the president of Hardeman County UT Alumni for 20 years and was a member of the Farm Bureau for 30 years. He was born September 9, 1933 in Frankfort, Kansas, son of the late Earl Martin Knepp and Loretta Torrey Knepp and had lived in Bolivar since 1958. He loved hunting and fishing and was a member of the Bolivar First United Methodist Church.



Services were 11 AM Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Bolivar chapel with Roger Hatch officiating.



Survivors include daughter, Jackie Knepp-Freeman of Medon; son, Earl Mark Knepp of Medon; one sister, Dorothy Spann of Jackson; 6 grandchildren, Michael Brandon Knepp, Tyler Lynn Knepp, Sarah Haley Knepp, Victoria Elaine Hall, John Freeman and Sharee McPeters; 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son, Michael Lynn Knepp who died May 18, 1993.
