John Ross Hill

John Ross Hill was born March 12, 1944 in McNairy County, TN the son of the late Samuel Clay and Margaret Harris Hill.

He was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Compton on August 29, 1964. Mrs. Hill preceded him in death on April 8, 2021.

Mr. Hill worked in law enforcement for over 18 years and the fire department for several years both in Dyersburg, TN. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Hill departed this life on January 17, 2022 in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 77 Years, 10 Months, 5 Days. He is survived by a son, Rodney Hill and wife Sarah of Adamsville, TN; a daughter, Lori Climer and husband John of Munford, TN; five grandchildren, Breanna Mills, Whitney Climer, Hunter Hill, Johnna Climer, Matthew Climer; a great-grandson, Brett Mills; a brother, Tom Hill and wife Wilma of Adamsville, TN; and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Hill was preceded in death by five brothers, Eldon, Leonard, Lonnie, William Samuel and Lloyd Rayburn Hill; two sisters, Linda Kindle and Mary Helen Hill.
