John Wayne Goodman was born on August 27, 1939 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the son of the late John H. Goodman and Fannie Phillips Goodman. On October 2, 1970, he was united in marriage to Judy Cummings, who survives.
Mr. Goodman worked for the City of Savannah as Captain of the Fire Department before retiring after 23 years of service. He was a member of Landmark Pentecostal Church in Stantonville, Tennessee. He enjoyed reading the paper, swinging his great grandbabies in the porch swing, and getting on Facebook to read about his friends and wishing them a Happy Birthday.
John Wayne Goodman was a man who held many hats. A husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend. John Wayne was an embodiment of good. He made a lasting impression on every person he met, and always looked for the good. Every hello was followed by a story, and every story ended with a testimony about God's saving grace. While he is physically gone from this world, he will always live on in all of our hearts.
