JOHN WALTER (JACK) COLLINS, JR.
was born on September 11, 1956 in Mobile, AL, died December 26, 2011. Jack was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 119 for 32 years. Jack was a Union Organizer for the last 8 years. He was a representative to the Alabama Pipe Trades Council. Mr. Collins was an Executive Board Member for the Southwest Labor Council and arepresentative to the Mobile/Pensacola Building Trade Council. He was an active volunteer and contributor to United Way. Jackwas highly respected and loved by his family, friends and colleagues. He liked everyone and never met a stranger. He gave freely and asked for nothing in return. Jack will always be remembered for his jovial disposition and sincere compassion for others. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Kim L. Collins; son, John “Johnny†Walter Collins, III; parents, John Walter Collins, Sr. and Geraldine Lightsey Collins; siblings: Mike (Nita) Collins, Chuck Collins, Jerry (Diana) Collins, and Lisa (Joe) Stevens; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. Jack was also greatly loved by his Tennessee family: sister-in-law, Dr. Janet L. (George) Cromwell: one special aunt, Mrs. Ruby Hayes; his second mother, Mrs. Lucille Lard; and
nephew, Mr. Chris (Jillian) Vinson, all of Savannah, TN.
