John Averly Brown was born in Sterling, West Virginia on October 1, 1943 the son of the late Averley and Christine Pauline Ingham Brown.
Mr. Brown served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era.
On September 16, 1981, he was united in marriage to Linda Kay Smiley, who survives.
Mr. Brown was retired from Nova Property Management where he worked on heating, air conditioning, and other major appliance repairs. Before moving to Savannah, John resided in Daytona, Florida for over 50 years where he was a former deputy sheriff. Mr. Brown was a member of the American Legion. In his spare time, he loved to rebuild old cars.
He departed this life on July 3, 2018 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 74 years, 9 months, and 2 days.
John is survived by his wife of 36 years, Linda Brown of Savannah, Tennessee; children, Traci Livernois of Arizona City, Arizona and Kimberly Mayfield of Garland, Texas, Joseph Brown of Daytona Beach, Florida, Rick Stidham of Louisville, Kentucky, and Billy Brown of Savannah, Tennessee; brother, James Brown of Flagler County, Florida; and 7 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister Mary Maxwell.
